What Pinellas County Siding Actually Has to Survive

Why We Don't Install Vinyl

Vinyl siding is inexpensive, lightweight, and installs quickly — we understand the appeal. In direct summer sun on a west-facing wall, vinyl can soften, warp, or pull loose from its nailing hem over time. Why We Don't Install LP SmartSide

LP SmartSide is an engineered wood product — wood strands bonded with resin and treated with a zinc-borate coating for moisture and pest resistance. It's a legitimate product with real fans in drier climates. The concern for us is that it's still wood at its core. Wood-based siding depends entirely on an intact factory coating and unbroken caulking at every seam and cut edge to keep water out. In a coastal, high-humidity environment with wind-driven rain, any breach — a missed caulk line, a nail that backs out, a corner that wasn't sealed correctly — gives moisture a path into a material that can swell, delaminate, or take on rot from the inside where you can't see it. We've chosen not to carry the maintenance risk that comes with an engineered wood product in this specific climate.

Why We Don't Install Other Fiber Cement Brands

This one surprises people. Cemplank and Allura are also fiber cement — the same base material as James Hardie. So why not install those too? Two reasons.
